Vintage Judith McCann Beaded Necklace with Shuvon Clasp + Wingback Earrings

This listing is for an iconic vintage jewelry set by Judith McCann from the 1950s. The necklace fully extends to 29" and features beautiful pastel colored AB crystals. The Shuvon clasp allows the wearer options in length including doubling it for a layered look (see photos for examples). It was originally designed to drape from a dress or blouse so get creative! The earrings are 1 1/4" long and 3/4" wide and feature McCann's Wingback design which she patented in 1947. (See instructions below for placement.). All pieces are in wonderful condition. A lovely set by a pioneer in jewelry design!

Judith McCann never intended to design jewelry. She just wanted to be comfortable when wearing earrings with larger stones. In 1947, she patented the Wingback design which allows the earring to rest in the curve of the ear. And the Shuvon clasp allows the wearer to "shove" the clasp any where on the necklace. Judith McCann ended her business in 1964.

To place Wingback earrings:
1. Orient the earring: Check if the back of the earring is stamped for the left or right ear.
2. Hold your ear: Use your thumb and index finger to gently hold the bottom of your earlobe.
3. Slide up: With your free hand, slip the earring straight up and onto the ear from the bottom.
4. Position: Ensure the small wing (the "Y" shape) sits smoothly on top of the front of your earlobe, while the straight stem rests behind your ear.
